# Mining

Beesness is Beesness

{% hint style="info" %}
This page is a machine translation. The French version is the official reference: [read this page in French](https://the-life-bomb.gitbook.io/whitepaper/fr/move-to-earn/mining).
{% endhint %}

Mine the real world, equip your Bees with a pickaxe and set off to conquer the Oasis.

## Mining

{% hint style="danger" %}
**The definitive chain starts on 4 September 2026 at 08:00 UTC**, with **Genesis Block #1**.\
Everything mined before that date belongs to the test phase and **does not count**: the chain is reset the day before.
{% endhint %}

Set off to conquer your environment: equip one of the Bees on your team with a pickaxe, start your run and explore the **real world**.

To turn every one of your movements into exploration ground, we have divided **the entire globe into hexagonal cells of about 350 meters**.

Every workout thus becomes a real expedition across the Oasis, letting you explore new cells, take part in block validation and access **a new type of reward**.

### How does it work?

Every day, a chain of blocks is generated based on the number of active users from the day before.

**Only one block is in play at a time.**

Cross a cell while a time slot is open and you take your chance on that block.

The mined resource is called **PoR**, for ***Proof of Run***. PoR is not a token, it is a convertible in-game resource. (More information in the section concerned)

## 1. *The day's block chain*

Every day at **00:00 UTC**, the day's chain is generated.

**The network grows with the community**: the more of you who run, the larger the pool distributed the next day.

The length of a block is **drawn at random every day**, from four values: **2, 3, 4 or 5 minutes**. It is the same for every block of the day, and nobody knows it in advance.

<table><thead><tr><th width="115">Value</th><th width="240">Calculation</th><th>Meaning</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>T</td><td>drawn at random: 2, 3, 4 or 5</td><td>Length of a block, in minutes</td></tr><tr><td>N</td><td>(1440 − 2) ÷ T, rounded down</td><td>Number of standard blocks</td></tr><tr><td>M</td><td>1440 − N × T</td><td>Length of the Mega Block</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
There is a **Mega Block every day**, without exception.

* The draw yields between **288 and 720 blocks** in the day.
* A block never lasts more than 5 minutes: **the wait after a block is taken is always short**.
* The draw is **reproducible**: it follows from the date, it is never improvised.
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
👉 **The draw changes nothing about what you earn.** The day's pool does not depend on the length drawn: a 2-minute day distributes exactly as much as a 5-minute day, in smaller and more numerous pieces. Only the **rhythm** changes, never the total.
{% endhint %}

*Example: a day where the draw gives 4 minutes → **359 blocks of 4 minutes + 1 Mega Block of 4 minutes***

#### ***Block Numbering***

Blocks are numbered continuously, **for life**, starting from **block #1, the Genesis Block**

{% hint style="info" %}
A block that nobody validates before its time slot closes **is not deleted**. It enters the chain **blank**, keeps its number, and may be put back into play during a special or sponsored event later on.
{% endhint %}

### *2. Block rewards*

The day's pool depends on the **runners**, never on the number of blocks.

<table><thead><tr><th width="260">The day's pool</th><th>Calculation</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>PoR at stake</td><td><strong>0.25 PoR per runner</strong> who covered at least 250 m the day before</td></tr><tr><td>Floor</td><td>never less than <strong>100 PoR</strong>, even on a deserted day</td></tr></tbody></table>

That pool is then spread **very unevenly** across the blocks. Most are small, a few are worth the hunt.

| Block Type | Reward | Share of the Pool |
| ---------- | ------------------- | ----------------- |
| Mega       | The Day's Remainder | ≈ 20%             |
| Large      | 3 or 5 PoR          | rare              |
| Medium     | 0.5 or 1 PoR        | frequent          |
| Small      | 0.1 or 0.3 PoR      | the most common   |

{% hint style="info" %}
**The amounts are fixed, it is the proportions that adapt.** A day with 2-minute blocks shares the same pool between twice as many blocks, so there will be more small blocks. A day with 5-minute blocks shifts towards the large ones. Either way you earn the same over the day.
{% endhint %}

#### The time slot consolation

When a block is validated, **those who tried their luck on that exact block without getting it** receive a share of its reward, according to their **active Season Pass**:

<table><thead><tr><th width="260">Active Season Pass</th><th>Share of the block reward</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Classic</td><td>5%</td></tr><tr><td>OG</td><td>10%</td></tr><tr><td>Genesis</td><td>15%</td></tr></tbody></table>

This is an **addition**: the miner who validates the block keeps their whole reward, nothing is taken away. Without an active Season Pass, no share.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only miners who **actually attempted on that block** are concerned. Running during the time slot without crossing a fresh cell gives no entitlement.
{% endhint %}

### 3. Mining difficulty

Every day, mining difficulty is readjusted according to the number of blocks validated the day before.\
The goal is simple, to open up a share of strategy and choice in this new game mechanic.

The chance of validating a block on a given attempt is therefore **self-adjusting**, in the spirit of Bitcoin's difficulty.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Chance = base ÷ the day's coefficient ÷ the current pressure**
{% endhint %}

**The day's coefficient** corrects itself every night according to the number of blocks validated the day before, compared to a target of **90%**. The correction is bounded to ±50% per day, so the game never runs away in either direction.

**The current pressure** follows the number of miners actually out running, minute by minute.

{% hint style="success" %}
👉 Result: whether there are 400 Pickaxes or 40,000 in circulation, the network keeps a comparable validation pace.
{% endhint %}

#### Personal bonuses

Bonuses **never** touch the global difficulty coefficient. They are **personal multipliers**, which only act on your own chance of validation.

They fall into **two independent families**, which multiply one another.

**1.** :red\_circle: **Specialization — permanent, up to ×5**

This is the **effective specialization of the Bee carrying the Pickaxe**, Honey Pot included, whether it runs as main or as support.

<table><thead><tr><th width="260">Effective specialization</th><th>Multiplier</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1 to 80</td><td>×1.0</td></tr><tr><td>80 to 200</td><td>×1.5</td></tr><tr><td>200 to 500</td><td>×2.0</td></tr><tr><td>500 to 1,200</td><td>×2.8</td></tr><tr><td>1,200 to 3,000</td><td>×3.8</td></tr><tr><td>3,000 and above</td><td>×5.0</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="success" %}
Each size of **red Honey Pot** multiplies your effective specialization by 2.3 to 2.7.\
In other words: **one red pot merge = one more tier**.
{% endhint %}

**2. Temporary bonuses — total capped at ×2.5**

* 🌦️ Weather
* 🍂 Season
* 🎫 Season Pass
* 🎉 Global events

{% hint style="warning" %}
The validation target does not move. Specializing therefore does **not** create extra blocks: it decides **who** validates the day's blocks. Mining is a race between miners, not a lottery where everyone can win more at the same time.
{% endhint %}

### *4. How to mine?*

1. Equip a Pickaxe on one of the Bees of your team, **main or support** *(a Pickaxe's effect lasts 24 hours)*
2. **Go for a run with energy.** It is the start of the run that arms the Pickaxe: started empty, no countdown begins. The run can then carry on without energy, only the start counts.
3. Your Exploration map displays the real cells around you
4. Leave a cell while a time slot is open: this triggers a validation attempt

{% hint style="warning" %}
To make an attempt, you must **leave the current cell and enter a new cell that has not yet been the subject of any validation attempt**.

Visited cells are **reset every day at 00:00 UTC**
{% endhint %}

5. If the attempt succeeds, the block is **validated in your name** and closes until the next time slot

{% hint style="info" %}
The countdown only appears **once the run is launched**, never at the moment you equip the Pickaxe. This is not a defect: equipping triggers nothing.
{% endhint %}

#### Important

* Maximum 20 attempts per player per 24 hours
* Crossing a cell when no block is available costs you nothing: no attempt is consumed and the cell stays fresh. Nothing goes to waste.
* Re-entering a cell already crossed during the same run never counts twice

#### Color Code

The color code of the cells.

Gold: Block validated + reward displayed in the block.\
Green: Attempt made, block not validated + number of remaining attempts displayed\
Orange: Block unavailable, no attempt consumed\
Red: GPS points recorded at vehicle speed, or whose accuracy exceeds 60 meters, are discarded. All existing run protections apply: speed floor, vehicle guard, movement verdict, device attestation, gyroscope, and other anti-cheat indicators.

#### 5. PoR (Proof of Run)

PoR is the main reward obtained upon validating a block.

You will soon be able to discover the different possible uses of this new reward\
\
Reveal at the launch of the Half Marathon event

#### 6. Pickaxes

<details>

<summary>The Emerald Pickaxe</summary>

The **Emerald Pickaxe** lets you mine for **3 x 24 hours per calendar month**.

It can be obtained through the **Marketplace, through Half Marathon Bees.**

You can hold **several**, and **each one has its own 3 x 24 hours** every month.

{% hint style="info" %}
What is limited is not the number of hours, it is the right to take them in one go: **only one of your Emerald Pickaxes per month can burn its three cycles at once**, that is 72 consecutive hours. The others open **24 hours at a time**.

Three Emerald Pickaxes therefore give **five mining days** in the month: three in a row with the first one, then one with each of the other two.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**During the event of 4, 5 and 6 September 2026**, the Emerald is armed in one block: its three cycles start together, over **72 consecutive hours**. That is what is sold, the buyer has no choice.

**From 7 September**, you split your 24 hours whenever you want.
{% endhint %}

</details>

<details>

<summary>The Classic Pickaxe</summary>

The **Classic Pickaxe** opens **one 24-hour window per calendar month**.

It can be obtained when transforming a **larva into a Bee**.

If the resulting Bee has an **IV of 100%**, it is generated with a pickaxe.

For this pickaxe to actually be added to your inventory, you must complete **at least one mining session with the Bee concerned**.

</details>

{% hint style="warning" %}
The quota is counted **per Pickaxe, not per account**. Three Classic Pickaxes therefore give three mining days in the month, one per Pickaxe.

An open window is neither extended nor restarted: it runs without stopping, even when you are not running. You can split it into as many sessions as you like.
{% endhint %}

#### 7. Wear & Repair

Pickaxes wear out **in proportion to the cells mined**, at a rate of **0.5% per cell**. (That is roughly **200 cells**, around **10 months** of use at full tilt.)

They can be repaired using emerald jelly.

Emerald Jelly XS = 5%\
Emerald Jelly S = 10%\
Emerald Jelly M = 25%\
Emerald Jelly L = 70%

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Warning:** when a pickaxe reaches **100% age**, it breaks and is **permanently lost**.
{% endhint %}

### 8. The Block Apiary

Open to all users: <https://rucher.the-life-bomb.com>

**The Apiary is a live explorer of the PoR chain.**

The current block sits at the center, past blocks scroll off to the left, and the full history forms a continuous chain since the Genesis Block.

* 🏭 A living scene: the hive at the back carries the numbered supers, the current block is a frame set down in the yard where each lit cell is an attempt, and the beekeeper empties the oldest super into pots to load them into the van
* ✍️ The signature: the miner who validates a block **will be able to engrave a sentence into THEIR block**, visible forever. A nod to the message left by Satoshi in the genesis block. Signatures are moderated, and abuse costs the right to sign.
* 📤 Sharing: each validated block generates a shareable image with the block size, the username, the signature and the run stats the validator agreed to share.
* 🔍 The size hint: the block in play lets you guess its size, without ever confirming it
* 🎊 Day events: doubled rewards, carry-over of unmined blocks, blank days. Announced in the explorer.
* 🏆 The ranking: daily, monthly and all time, sorted by PoR mined, with a separate column for **Mega Blocks**, the real badge of glory. You always see your position, even outside the top.

### 9. Other Rewards

Failing to win PoR, each of your validation attempts earns you a whole range of other rewards

* Achievements
* Architect mode XP
* Heated Zones
